Career Expo ? Module 7 ? Technical Writing

Having been my second Career Expo, the experience was about the same as last year?s expo. The place was very?unsurprisingly?crowded with people, and it was nice to see a nice variety of companies there. I got a chance this year to speak to Sikorsky, Boeing, Space X, and Tesla. Each representative was interesting and had alot of information about each of their respective companies. The company I enjoyed speaking to the most was Space X since a recent Embry Riddle graduate I knew was one of the representatives there. I spoke the longest with him about possible internships in coming summer. Many of the companies liked seeing the project experience I had on my resume and said I had good potential after some talk. Dressing well with professional attire was definitely helpful in terms of representative reaction upon approaching them. Another thing that helped was how practicing ?elevator speaking? and researching companies ahead of time helped with my interactions with people. I noticed as I was walking around the Expo that students who I knew prepped for the Expo walked out successful in some aspect Vs. those students who walked in with no preparation and were more hesitant to walk up to representatives.
