Lebanon?s president said Thursday that Israel and its policies toward the Palestinian people was preventing stability in the Middle East.
?It is necessary to revive the peace process based on UN resolutions, the Madrid Conference and the Arab peace initiative,? the National News Agency quoted Michel Suleiman as saying during a dinner held by Greek President Karolos Papoulias in his honor.
The Lebanese president also called for communication between Europe and the Middle East and between Lebanon and Greece specifically to find common solutions for economic and political problems and challenges.
On Thursday Suleiman left for Greece on a three-day official visit.
